COSCO Shipping Experiences Positive Growth in Indonesia

1986

The company's journey began as COSCO General Agency which focused on specializing in export shipments of plywood and rubber for Breakbulk vessels.

1991

Within five years, COSCO Agency successfully expanded its business, transitioning into a reputable container shipping company.

1994

COSCO Group embarked on a joint venture with GPI to focus on developing the container shipping business which eventually succeeded in launching PT Ocean Global Shipping.

In order to strengthen cooperation between Indonesia and China, COSCO Group has expanded its business into dry bulk shipping development under COSCO Bulk in collaboration with GPI. The launching of this collaboration was attended by Mr. Sumadi Kusuma (CEO of GPI Group), Mr. Zhang Fu Sheng (Secretary of Party Committee & Excecutive VP Cosco Group), Jusman S. Djamal (Minister of Transportation), and Madam Zhang Qiyue (Ambassador of China).
